Hormone report

Filed under: General — kim @ 1:25 pm

I had the insemination on Wednesday. Now all I can do is wait for a couple of weeks and hope that it all works. My hormones are way out of whack right now, though. I’‘m moody, tired, nauseated, and generally irritable. A pure joy to be around, I assure you. That plus the stress of waiting is really getting to me. And the thought that if it doesn’‘t work, I have to do it all over again next month. Must stay calm. Must meditate. ohhhmmm.

Sentence of the day!

I can only sit and laugh at this one:

“If you get stuck doing other people’’s work, learn how to say No or get your boss, too.”

nervous and anxious and moody, Oh My!

Filed under: General — kim @ 10:52 pm

Today I got my HCG shot (human chorionic gonadotropin… not that this means much to most people, but it’’s a hormone created by the body during pregnancy), which will basically make my body think it’’s pregnant so that when we get the insemination tomorrow morning, things should start rolling. Let’’s hope this all works out! If not, I’‘ll be doing it again next month.

The shot itself also makes my body mimic the signs of pregnancy, so I’‘m all freaky moody and feeling nauseous! Yay! :P

Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Here’’s one that is just a complete mess… and it came from an article that was originally published by the Gartner Group (a highly acclaimed research company):

“Revision marks and comments are extremely useful when collaborating on documents, but when revisions are not accepted or are rejected before the document is sent outside the enterprise or even within enterprises, the result can be, for example, clients seeing pricing that was changed or sections that were removed, putting the enterprise at a competitive disadvantage.’‘

I am not impressed.

Lego people, ice storms, and interior design

Filed under: General — kim @ 10:35 pm

Holly sent me this link to a site where you can go and create a lego person that looks like you. Or like someone of your choosing. Then, you can save the image. I made one that looked like me wearing a wonder woman crown and a cape. I’‘ll try to get it on the site soon.

On Saturday, Dave and I went up to Cincinnati for the day. We drove around, goofed off, ate at the original Skyline Chili, went to the Frontgate and Ballard Designs outlet stores, and then got caught in the ice storm on the way home. On i-71, a jeep cherokee flipped over onto its roof right in front of us. We didn’‘t hit them… thank goodness… but we did call 911 and stop to make sure they were okay. Minor cuts and bruises was all. But it was a very scary evening. We were glad to get home.

I have been meaning to post to the blog all week, but I’‘ve been in a bit of a funk and not in the mood to write much. (Are you happy now, Tony? ;)

But one good thing… tomorrow I am meeting with an admissions counselor for the Louisville Tech Interior Design School. I am considering a new career, so I hope this school thing works out. It will be great to try something new! I’‘m really excited about it. :)

Happy Heart Day :P

Filed under: General — kim @ 1:26 pm

I had to say it… Happy V-Day! Everyone is wearing red and pink and acting all giddy. Several of my women co-workers are wearing Valentine’’s Day socks. LOL Of all the tacky socks in my collection, I have no Valentine’’s Day socks (which makes me think I need to go to TJMaxx tonight to buy some on clearance), so I wore blue socks with red moose (or is it mooses?) on them. :) Dave and I went to lunch at a chinese buffet (it was pretty good) and he bought me a metal smiley face ring from the 25 cent toy vending machine outside. Overall, it’’s been a pretty good day. We’‘re not even gonna try to venture out for dinner. We just know everything will be packed. So we’‘re stayin in and watching movies! :) Sounds like a great plan to me…

You know how you get a song stuck in your head?

Filed under: General — kim @ 11:54 am

I’‘ve been singing Nelly’’s Air Force Ones for a couple of weeks now. I wasn’‘t really sure what it was about at first. And then I really listened to the lyrics. It’’s about buying lots of the Nike shoes. LOL I love shoes! hahaha. Oh well. It’’s really a kind of silly song. And I hope to get it out of my head soon…

It”s mnemonic, you dolt!

Filed under: General — kim @ 3:51 pm

Screw up of the day! I just came across this one in the article I’‘m editing. It made me laugh!

“Passwords should be just long enough to make them hard to crack, but short enough that they’re easy to remember—a hard balance to strike, I know. I like to use acronyms or a pneumonic.”

It’’s mnemonic. As in Johnny Mnemonic. ugh…

Found the Rainbow Connection. It was at Mark & John”s apartment…

Filed under: General — kim @ 10:59 am

Okay. I am several days late posting this. But we’‘ve had some family happenings to deal with. So Saturday night was the Muppet Booze Up at John and Mark’’s. I let Dave participate in the drinking games (everyone drink if the entire group is moved to song… etc. Individuals drank based on certain criterion they drew from a hat—a lovely, colorful jester’’s hat.). We saw Muppet Show episodes with such guests as Mark Hamill, Debbie Harry, Marty Feldman, Vincent Price, Alice Cooper, and Gilda Radner. Dave got kinda drunk and silly. He even fell out of his chair once… And then on the way home, he had me go through the drive thru at Krispy Kreme doughnuts… nothing better for a hang over in the morning! Or while you’‘re drunk. ;)
