I haven't been to a nice salon in ages... but today I am going to get my hair fixed. lol
I had been dying my hair black for two years, and I'm kind of tired of it. While I've been pregnant, I just let it grow. Now I have these icky long brown roots with nice grey accents. And the ends are black. It looks so awful. I am going to go get some professional help. I'm hoping they can do some repair work or give me some highlights and lowlights to help my hair look better. I'm tired of looking like I'm growing out a screwed up hair color. Oh, and I'm gonna get some kind of cut, too. Not too much length off, but some layers or something.
Only 5 weeks until Lola arrives. I wanna look my best when I meet my daughter! Speaking of, at my ultrasound this week, the tech showed me that she has lots of hair! It was down on her neck and moved when she moved her head! I'm so excited. I can't wait to see her little face... well, not on an ultrasound image!

My OB says, "Most likely." That's the date she has scheduled for my c-section. I will have to get an amnio the day before to check for lung maturity. If the results are good, we will proceed and have my c-section on the morning of June 1st. If the lungs aren't mature, we will reschedule for the following week. So... for now... the date is June 1. I'm totally freaked out now. That date isn't too far off. I don't feel ready yet. But I will be. It's exciting.
So pencil in the date on your calendars! I'll keep you all posted via the blog for the next few weeks. Woohoo! BTW, I'm 30 weeks, 3 days along today. Yay!

This was Easter weekend. Every year, my family goes down to a church camp near Leitchfield, KY for a family "Easter retreat." My aunt, uncle, cousins, cousins' kids, my mom, dad, sister, brother, and their kids were all there. We stay in a big lodge--each family gets a room with a bathroom (well, most have their own bathrooms) and a queen bed and some bunks. There's a big communal kitchen and dining area and a "living room" with couches and a downstairs where the kids ran wild and movies were played late into the night.
Overall, it was a fun time. It was just so darn cold. When we go down there and the weather is warm, there is fishing, hiking, kids playing outside, etc. But this time, we all pretty much stayed indoors. Saturday night was a big feast of italian food. I made a veggie lasagna (had a small piece) and a big salad. Everyone else had baked ziti, spaghetti and meatballs, etc. I was good. Stayed on my diet. I sneaked two pieces of candy when we filled the Easter eggs last night for the egg hunt this morning. BTW, coconut creme Hershey kisses are AWESOME--well, if you love coconut. Oh my... they tasted even better than a Mounds bar. I ate one of those and one vanilla creme Hershey kiss, which was also yuuummmmy. (Hey, when you haven't had sweets for as long as I have gone without... things taste even BETTER!)
Zack ran totally wild with his cousins. He had so much fun. They ate candy, played games, ran around. He was so cute. This was the first year he was allowed to just run with the cousins and he loved it all so much. This morning, we all got up and the kids all had Easter baskets--the Easter bunny came to the camp! Then, after a big breakfast, all the adults hid the eggs outside and then we released the kids. Zack had a big basket and found 64 eggs! (We hid 477 eggs total--there were 8 kids hunting for the eggs. Yes, this was probably overboard.)
Then everyone packed up and headed home. I've been tired all day and now I feel congested--no thanks to the crappy cold weather. I hope I feel better tomorrow. I slept ok in the lumpy queen-size bed. But I'm also very pregnant, so sleep isn't easy anyway. Even in my own bed. But we had a great time. Just glad to be home and have one more holiday down for the year.

Well, I'm still hanging in there. I'll be 29 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Woohoo!
At my OB appointment this week, I'd only gained 1/4 of a pound in three weeks. I'm guessing this whole gestational diabetes diet is working... I've gained only 18 lbs. total this pregnancy, which isn't bad for being over 7 months along.
Not much else is new. I'm really bummed that the weather has gotten so cold. We're having an egg hunt on Saturday for the kids in the family and Zack is finally old enough to participate and sort of understand what's going on... but now it'll be cold. I'm sure he'll still have fun, though.
For some reason, I've been sleepy all day. Could be the weather. Could be the pregnancy zapping me. Maybe it's a bit of both. Dave is in class but oooooh how I wish I could take a nap--even though it's almost 8 pm. Instead, I think Zack and I will play for a bit. He's learning to count--yay!
