Well, the bar is (for the most part) finished. We have to paint the door going to the garage and touch up some trim, still. But it has a ceiling, new paint, new carpet, new sliding glass doors, a new bar, and decor on the walls. I can't believe it. It's like walking into someone else's basement. For 4 years, we walked through that room to get to the stairs from the garage. For 4 years, it was just a pass-through full of junk. Now it feels clean. Now it feels like a place you want to go and hang out.
We also finished our bedroom and hung pictures and things on the walls in there and in our master bathroom. They finally look complete and put together. I'm so in love. I go in there and feel like I can finally relax. It's nice and it matches and it looks neat and tidy. It just feels so good to have those rooms finally complete. It's like having a new house. Well, almost.
Now Dave and I wander into the big room downstairs (soon to be our family/play rooms) and just wonder... "How will we ever get *this* room finished?" It's such a big room. But we're motivated even more now. We just need to figure out how to finance the cost of the drywall... lol

Uhm. I thought I'd seen it all. Well, I haven't seen how this works (as in, haven't viewed results--nor have I tried it), but here you go: Now you can color your "hair down there" to make your rug match the curtains. Or not match the curtains.... they have pink, too. Of course, I'm sure someone out there has pink hair and wants her pubes to match.

Just wanted to share this. I have been so frustrated with the rising prices of EVERYTHING and how none of the candidates seem to be able to address the problem and how they would try to bring the economy back in line.
I paid $4.26 for a gallon of milk two days ago. Finally milk prices have gone higher than gas prices. Maybe we'll become vegan and give up dairy altogether. A good thought, but not an easy one to put into practice when you're a cheese/dairy addict. *sigh*

I'm so glad it's over. I was worried yesterday. You never know how a baby will do with general anesthesia. He had outpatient surgery to clear out his blocked tear duct. It all went well. He woke up grumpy and throwing a tantrum in the recovery room. But we finally got him calmed down on the way home. He rested some and watched "Toy Story 2"--one of his new favorite movies--and then had a nap. He ate lunch, played with Lola, jumped on his bed, and even ate Doritos. They said his tummy might be upset, but not Zack. You would never know from looking at him this evening that he was at the hospital this morning.
They let him take Baby Bear and Froggie into the operating room with him. I thought that was so sweet. He came back on his stretcher with them tucked in beside him. The whole procedure only took about 20 minutes! Of course, we were at Kosair at 6:30 am this morning and the surgery didn't actually take place until 9:15. And we had Lola with us, so all in all, it was a very busy and tiring day. I'm just super glad he did well and that it's over and hopefully he won't have to worry about his eye problems again!

She was super grumpy yesterday. When she woke up grumpy again this morning, I tried to put some Orajel on her and there it was--her first tooth! Lower left front tooth! Yay Lola!

Happy New Year! I can't believe it's already 2008. Lola turned 7 months old on January 1st. She's crawling all over, trying to pull up (she can pull up to her knees and occasionally pull all the way up to standing). She runs in her walker. She's going to be walking soon. I just know it.
Yesterday Dave got lasik surgery. I took Zack to Mom's Tyme Out and then took Dave to his appointment with Lola in tow. He sat for more than a half hour filling out paperwork, watching a video, and fighting about insurance paperwork. I was trying to keep Lola occupied in the waiting room--fun fun fun. She was sleepy, but the lights were so bright. I let her crawl around in the floor for a bit--probably not ideal, but she was really fussy when I held her and wanted down, so I had to let her or else everyone in the waiting room would have to listen to her howl. They came and got Dave and took him back--then I noticed Lola was STINKY. I went to the bathroom to change her, came back, grabbed a free Cherry Coke Zero from their complimentary fridge, sat down and began to drink it while Lola played. Then, there he was. It took like 10 minutes. Dave said he didn't start to really freak out about it until he was on the table having it done. And by the time he started freaking, it was over. Which is good news because I hope to get it done next year. So far, he sees fine. He had some tearing up and stinging yesterday on the way home, but that is normal right after. He slept for a couple of hours, then got up and we did the routine of eye drops all evening. He got up this morning and drove himself to the eye doctor for them to check their work.
The contractors came today and hung the new bathroom door. All that's left is the shower door--which the contractor hadn't heard back from the lady at Louisville Tile about when it will arrive. It was supposed to have been installed yesterday at 10 am. I'm getting peeved because I want my bathroom complete! I had planned on taking my shower in there this morning! And now... it's 9 am and still no shower door.
Well, I must go. Lola has crawled into the dining room and gotten lost under the table, so she's crying. Gotta go rescue the princess.
